Events To Help Ojai Library Raise Funds

The first of 13 events to raise money for the Grow Your Library campaign in Ojai is planned for Sunday at Movino Wine Bar & Gallery.

Gallery creator and owner Suzy Johlfs, along with a dozen other Ojai business owners, are sponsoring monthly events through August 2005 for the campaign, which was conceived by Sanford Drucker to inspire community involvement in helping expand the Ojai Library. Those who donate $10 to the Grow Your Library campaign receive 10 percent off at the 13 Ojai businesses during various months.

"Because the Ojai Library has played such an important role in the development of my family, I was all too happy to participate and help in raising expansion funds," Clark said.

The festivities, featuring co-host Gabe Saglie, KEY News anchor, will begin at 2 p.m. and will include a welcome and introduction, an opportunity to meet Saglie and a performance at 2:45 p.m. by Demiti Corbin and his troupe of young actors performing Peachtree Theater Company's "Cardboard Fairytales: The Knight Life."

Dan Cerminaro and the students of the Ojai Valley Tae Kwon Do Academy will give a demonstration at 3:30 p.m.

Ongoing activities include Allen Tager's Tager Fine Arts Institute working with kids to create their own works of art.
